 Thoughts on our wedding

We feel very strongly about how the wedding is a public commitment we’re making to each other and that we’re engaging our community/family in that commitment. We hope that the weekend is about much more than the actual ceremony. We hope that you’ll join us for the ceremony, the meals, the fun activities, and the more simple moments by the fire, in the common areas, and by the water. We hope that all of these different moments will provide a time to connect with new and old friends and a time to build the foundation of our family.

We’ve chosen a venue that helps us to accomplish our goals. Perlstein Resort and Conference Center is part resort; large dining hall, hotel rooms, modern conveniences and part summer camp; swimming, campfires . We have reserved the entire grounds for the weekend, so everyone you’ll see is there for the same reason. You automatically have something in common!

Both of our families prioritize being together with family. Raj’s father was known to be the life of the party and Jennie’s Grandfather always cried tears of joy while giving a toast when his extended family was seated at the same table. Raj’s Mom and Jennie’s Savta (Grandma) love to cook for their families, expressing their feelings through food. Jennie’s parents love to share laughs at the table while playing board games or while swimming at the lake. That is the spirit of our weekend. We’ll eat together, celebrate, swap stories, and share in the camp’s activities. Please consult the weekend schedule for more detailed questions about how the days are scheduled.

Please come with an open heart and an open mind for a weekend of fun and relaxing with new friends and old. On Saturday night guests will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and talents with Raja and Jennie, to rejoice with the bride and groom. We invite you to come prepared with a short poem, a song, thoughts on love, and well wishes for Jennie and Raj.
